Its CORONA time~ Well since most of us are stuck at home, either working or otherwise… I have thought to share my top tens with you all… where you can dilly dally away your time~
Most of us might have seen all of the Pixar movies, like duh! But if you haven’t or just wanna re-watch it, below are my faves! (PS. I love all the movies and choosing between them was slightly difficult)
TOP TEN PIXAR MOVIES:
1. UP (8.2⭐/10⭐)
78-year-old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his house equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: You cannot miss watching this movie!!! Sometimes letting go.. is okay.. and facing and embracing the new.. is part of your life..
2. WALL᛫E (8.4⭐/10⭐)
In the distant future, a small waste-collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: Love between two robots could have never been so cute!!!
3. Ratatouille (8.0⭐/10⭐)
A rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous restaurant.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: If you need encouragement and motivation to pick up things which you think isn’t in your scope or you are not suited for it.. you need to watch this movie!!!
4. Coco (8.4⭐/10⭐)
Aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: Believe in yourself, be true and follow your values and principles, sometimes things/people aren’t as it/they seem to be and it doesn’t always go your way, in the end family matters.
5.1 The Incredibles (8.0⭐/10⭐)
A family of undercover superheroes, while trying to live the quiet suburban life, are forced into action to save the world.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: Don’t look back, your weakness can become your greatest strength, take risks, don’t be afraid, honesty matters, family comes first.
5.2 Incredibles 2 (7.6⭐/10⭐)
The Incredibles hero family takes on a new mission, which involves a change in family roles: Bob Parr (Mr Incredible) must manage the house while his wife Helen (Elastigirl) goes out to save the world.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: In the family, everyone has an important role, Together is always better, True love takes sacrifice..
6.1 Monsters, Inc. (8.0⭐/10⭐)
In order to power the city, monsters have to scare children so that they scream. However, the children are toxic to the monsters, and after a child gets through, 2 monsters realize things may not be what they think.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: Leave your ego at the door, Don’t believe everything you hear, The best kind of friends will do anything for, Change can be good
6.2 Monsters University (7.3⭐/10⭐)
A look at the relationship between Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James P. “Sully” Sullivan (John Goodman) during their days at Monsters University, when they weren’t necessarily the best of friends.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: There is no ‘I’ in team, Revenge makes you ugly, Be careful who you are trying to fit in with, Don’t hate me ’til you know me, Everyone has different strengths; know yours, There is no one path to get from A to B..
7.1 Finding Nemo (8.1⭐/10⭐)
After his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone, Listen to your parents!, Don’t be afraid to leave your comfort zone, Bullies never win, Don’t judge a book by its cover, Don’t give in to peer pressure, Find joy in the small things life, Never give up, Humans really are selfish, Just keep swimming!
7.2 Finding Dory (7.3⭐/10⭐)
Friendly but forgetful blue tang Dory begins a search for her long-lost parents, and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: Seek out happiness and follow your heart, even if it takes your whole life, Always be true to others and yourselves. You don’t know how big of an impact you can have on the lives of those around you, Enjoy the small things around you. There’s beauty everywhere if you look for it, Just keep swimming!
8. Brave (7.1⭐/10⭐)
Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald) defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: Mother daughter relationship, putting aside pride in admitting one’s fault.
9. Inside Out (8.2⭐/10⭐)
After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness – conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: Happiness is not just about joy, Don’t try to force happiness, Sadness is vital to our well-being, Mindfully embrace—rather than suppress—tough emotions.
10.1 Toy Story (8.3⭐/10⭐)
A cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman figure supplants him as top toy in a boy’s room.
Otakumeganechan’s verdict: Come on now.. who doesn’t know Toy Story?! If not.. you need to watch it.. its like revisiting your childhood memories.. and what happens when we are not around our toys…..?
10.2 Toy Story 2 (7.9⭐/10⭐)
When Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends set out on a rescue mission to save Woody before he becomes a museum toy property with his roundup gang Jessie, Prospector, and Bullseye.
10.3 Toy Story 3 (8.3⭐/10⭐)
The toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it’s up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren’t abandoned and to return home.
10.4 Toy Story 4 (7.8⭐/10⭐)
When a new toy called “Forky” joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy.
